The KIPC was recognized by the PA DEP, Secretary John Hanger, Gov. Ed Rendell and others as it receives the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence, at the Pennsylvania Environmental Council’s Annual Awards Dinner.

 
   

KIPC and EPA Partnership

Speaker Pelosi addresses KIPC community

 

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, was at the Keystone Industrial Port Complex, today, to recognize the KIPC for its leadership as a renewable energy economic success story. Speaker Pelosi was joined by Senator Bob Casey, Congressman Patrick Murphy, and Pennsylvania's Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, Kathleen McGinty.

On June 7th, three chapters of S.W.E.P., or the Society of Woman Environmental Professionals, held their regular meeting, and toured the KIPC. Watch this Special Report with KIPCTV’s Stephanie Thomas.

 
   

KIPC Hosts Regional SWEP Chapters
 

The KIPC was host to a regional SWEP Meeting, (Society of Woman Environmental Professionals). Fifty members, representing chapters from New Jersey, Harrisburg, and Greater Philadelphia attended the event. The SWEP membership was the first to learn of KIPC’s S.E.E.D.S Initiative, and heard first hand from Kathleen Mayher, of United States Steel Corporation, about the transformation of the site. The following video presentation premiered at the SWEP event.

 
   

KIPC 2007 Update
 

PA Governor Edward G. Rendell delivered a major economic development announcement at the KIPC. AE Polysilicon, will be adding several hundred, good paying jobs. AE Polysilicon is a manufacturer involved in the components of Solar Panels and Semi Conductors. Hear what Gov. Rendell and others had to say about the progress at KIPC.
